End-of-School-Year Mom

I can’t believe it’s been 10 days since my last post. Remember when you were a kid, sitting in that uncomfortable chair at school, slumping over your beaten-up desk, staring at the clock to see the minute hand take like an hour to move? Now it feels like every day is over within minutes. It’s not fair, is it? The older you get, the faster time goes.

I promise I will post a real blog tomorrow. Just wanted to post really quickly that I have not abandoned you, my faithful readers!

In the meantime, in case you haven’t seen it, below is an absolutely HILARIOUS post about the difference in parents at the beginning of the year versus the end of the year.

With next week being the last week of school and us leaving for vacation right after, I am totally the “end of school year mom” multiplied by 50. Example: my daughter had a field trip today, and I had to e-mail her teacher last night to make sure I ordered her a lunch a few weeks ago. For the life of me I couldn’t remember, and considering how much junk (I mean “important papers”) she brings home, I suddenly worried that I threw away the lunch order form (OR it was sitting in a giant stack of papers my daughter has accrued on my desk) and she was going to starve today. Turns out I actually DID fill out the form and pay. Kudos for doing it, mom fail for not remembering. Luckily I know I’m not alone in this chaos of May, so my disorganized nuttiness didn’t even phase her teacher.

Are you this end-of-year-parent too??
